We have a temporary position in our Anchorage office for a Sales Assistant. This position will report to the Sales Manager. This temporary position will be 40 hrs per week from April until the end of August.
Position Profile (Job Summary)
Coordinate written/verbal communication and reporting for the Alaska (AK) Sales Team. Assist AK Sales Representatives, AK Market Research Manager and AK Sales Manager to meet and exceed AK Division goals and maximize customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Administrative Functions
- Receive and direct phone calls and voice mail messages
- Manage daily FAX contacts with customers and internal departments and relay necessary information to Sales Manager and Reps as required
- Screen and distribute Sales Manager’s and Sales Rep’s incoming mail
- Word process correspondence for Sales Manager, Market Research Manager, and Reps
- Manage and maintain promotional supplies as required
- Compile and process weekly sales reports and expense reports
- Maintain up-to-date hard copy account files on TOTE customers
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly BOS Customer Activity reports as required by Sales Department
- Perform travel and customer entertainment coordination activities
- Arrange annual Anchorage Holiday Customer Reception and any other social gatherings hosted by the Anchorage Sales Department
- Sales Performance Review
- Prepare quarterly and annual Sales Rep performance summaries/Smart Goals for Sales Manager
- Customer Partner Profiling
- Maintain account assignments by territory, business type, commodity group, and Sales Representative assigned to those accounts in TOTE’s BOS system
- Other duties
- Run reports as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications (education, skills and experience)
- High School Graduate.
- Pass the TOTE minimum threshold testing prior to accepting a job call from Local 959.
- Clerical office experience or training preferred.
- Meet the federal training standards required for transportation workers within 90 days or as schedule allows
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of common computer software programs
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience with multi-line phones
- Knowledge of basic business accounting preferred
Operations Supervisor - Anchorage
We have a new position in our Anchorage office for an Operations Supervisor reporting to Terminal & Safety Manager. Candidate should have a bachelors’ degree in either business or logistics as well as 6 to 8 years related experience. 1-2 years supervisory experience recommended.
This position is responsible for the successful management and supervision of the Anchorage Vehicle Department, Alaska Equipment Control, backup management support to other departments in the group, and lead role on project moves as assigned. Directly supervise non-supervisory employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
He/She would also be trained in Vessel, Maintenance, Terminal management, Customer Service, and Inland Transportation. This supervisory role will have a broad base of training and will continue building a strong team and will provide succession planning in our long-term development.

Systems Administrator - Federal Way
We have an immediate opening in our Federal Way office for a candidate with Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, 3-4 years hands-on experience in one or more LAN/WAN environments, and MCSE 2000 or higher certification. Position will report to Jim Brossard, Manager IT Infrastructure.
POSITION PROFILE (Job Summary)
This position is responsible for installation, upgrade, and maintenance of all Information Systems. This includes all computers, phones and systems they connect to.
Essential Job Responsibilities AND Results
- Provides complex, high-level technical support for computer and network systems, and carries out complex assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Provide “on call” services and respond to problem resolution opportunities that arise. The I.T. department is required to provide support 7 days a week 24 hours a day. You will be required to participate in the after hours support program.
- Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems.
- Install, configure and maintain local area network infrastructure.

- Ensure that hardware and software systems are maintained and updated.
